Joseph Gruber DDS and Associates has been proudly rooted in the City of Yorkville for over six decades. The story began in 1959, when Dr. Joseph Gruber II completed his dental degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Following two years of service as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force, he returned home and, in 1961, purchased a dental practice on Hydraulic Street—where he cared for patients for the next 12 years.
As the practice grew, so did the need for space. In 1973, Dr. Gruber relocated to a larger office in the newly constructed Bank of Yorkville building in Countryside Center. The next chapter began in 1988, when his son, Dr. Joseph Gruber III, graduated from the same dental school and joined the practice. Father and son worked side by side for nearly a decade, continuing the family legacy of dedicated dental care.
As the field of dentistry advanced, so did Joseph Gruber DDS and Associates. The practice has continued to grow, evolve, and serve the changing needs of Yorkville and the surrounding communities. In 2006, they moved into their current location at 302 Countryside Parkway—a modern space where they continue to provide high-quality care in a warm, patient-focused environment.
In an era where many local practices are absorbed by large corporations, Joseph Gruber DDS and Associates remains proudly independent, deeply connected to the community we call home. We are honored by the trust our patients have placed in us, and we warmly welcome new patients every day.

Dr. Joseph Gruber, III graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Dentistry in 1988. He chose to pursue a general dental practice because it offers the opportunity to help people of all ages, making a difference in their lives as they grow and change. He focuses on comprehensive care with a calm and compassionate environment.
