While “silver” amalgam fillings still have a place in modern dentistry in certain situations, we strongly prefer to place tooth colored, high strength, resin-composite fillings to repair minor to moderate tooth decay and to best replicate natural looking tooth structure.
Composite fillings are tooth colored and can be used to replicate any tooth in the mouth with amazing details. They are essentially bonded/glued onto the tooth and these are the fillings we use the “blue light” to complete.
